Job Description
Responsible for administering massage therapy techniques to patients in an inpatient or outpatient setting as directed by physicians and registered nurses.
+ Administers massage according to practice standards and institutional policy/procedure.
+ Applies alcohol lubricants or other rubbing compounds based on individual patient needs and practice standards.
+ Assists in developing and implementing patient/family teaching plan based on identified health education needs and the condition and age of the patient.
+ Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
+ Assumes responsibility for professional development of self and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others.
+ Demonstrates teamwork in the delivery of patient care.
+ In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $22.39 - $35.82 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduated from an approved school of massage therapy.
Experience: No experience required. Prefer previous oncology massage therapy experience in infusion clinic, and/or CE in oncology massage.
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice Massage Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling; Repetitive motion: massaging. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
