Insight Global is seeking 5 Speech-Language Pathology Assistants to work for a local school system based in Baltimore County, MD. The Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supports students' communication needs by delivering speech and language services under the supervision of a licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP). This role plays an integral part in helping students achieve their individualized goals while supporting augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in accordance with treatment plans and goals developed by the supervising Speech‑Language Pathologist.
- Work under the supervision of a licensed SLP, following all state, district, and professional guidelines.
- Collect and document data during therapy sessions to support progress monitoring and reporting.
- Assist with preparing therapy materials and resources to support instructional and therapeutic activities.
- Support students who use low‑tech AAC systems, including picture boards and communication books.
- Assist with training, programming, and basic troubleshooting of AAC devices as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Collaborate with the supervising SLP and school‑based team to support students' communication and access needs.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school system and special education requirements.
