Job Description
Description We are looking for an HR Specialist to support a busy non-profit human resources team in Kansas City, Missouri. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented environment and enjoys balancing recruiting coordination with core HR administration. The person in this role will help manage hiring activities, support employee lifecycle processes, and maintain accurate documentation across multiple HR functions. Responsibilities: - Manage employment postings across job boards and help maintain an organized flow of candidate activity for open positions. - Coordinate interview scheduling between applicants and hiring leaders, ensuring timely communication and a smooth candidate experience. - Review incoming resumes to identify candidates with relevant experience and assist with early-stage applicant screening. - Conduct reference checks using required questions and capture responses with precise documentation. - Support onboarding tasks for new team members, including preparation of paperwork and coordination of benefit-related information through Employee Navigator. - Assist with offboarding activities to ensure employee departures are handled accurately and professionally. - Provide day-to-day HR administrative support to the HR Director and help keep employee records current and well organized. - Use Microsoft Office tools to prepare documents, track hiring details, and support reporting needs. - Contribute to HRIS-related activities and provide additional support in Paylocity when needed. Requirements - Previous experience in human resources administration, recruiting coordination, or a related HR support role. - Ability to screen resumes, arrange interviews, and manage multiple hiring steps with strong attention to detail. - Experience conducting reference checks and documenting responses accurately and thoroughly. - Working knowledge of onboarding and offboarding processes within an HR environment. - Familiarity with HRIS platforms; experience with Paylocity is preferred. - Experience using Employee Navigator or similar benefits administration systems is a plus. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. - Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
