Job Description
Job Summary: Receive training in a variety of eye care settings to meet the educational outcomes and goals set by the ASCO (Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry) and the Residency program. To develop competence, skills, and ability to provide advanced full scope eye care services needed in an Optometry practice setting. One year residency program position with scheduled hours of 40 hours per week. Essential Responsibilities: + Complete a 12 month training program to sufficiently meet the program goals, as well as, the educational outcomes set by ASCO prior to receiving a certificate of completion. Train in the required Optometric/Ophthalmological practice settings for a specified number of weeks as set by the Programs core objectives with elective training in a variety of Optometry practice settings. + Develop and present residency projects under the guidance of Residency Director, Coordinator, Preceptors, and/or Project Advisors. + Attend professional and educational meetings/conferences. Basic Qualifications: Experience + N/A Education + Graduate of an Accredited Optometry School by program start date. O.D. (Optometry Doctorate) by program start date. + High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration + Optometrist License (California) required at hire Additional Requirements: + Must meet California licensure requirements by program start date. + Must participate in and adhere to the rules of the Resident Matching Program (RMP) process. + Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
