**UW Medical Center-Montlake - Admitting Department** has an outstanding opportunity to hire a **Patient Services Specialist Lead** .
**WORK SCHEDULE:**
+ 50% FTE (20 hours per week)
+ Saturday and Sunday; 6:00am - 4:30pm
+ Day Shift **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**
+ Serve as the primary resource for training, guiding, and auditing the work of Patient Services Specialists (PSS), while supporting front desk operations and ensuring smooth patient flow.
+ Greet and assist patients and families, ensuring accurate registration, rooming, and proper identification as they enter the medical center.
+ Ensure correct demographic and financial information is collected, including signed consents and financial agreements.
+ Verify insurance coverage, coordinate with internal departments and external facilities, and refer patients to Financial Counseling as needed. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Collect and verify patient demographic and financial information, obtain consents, and complete registration using Epic ADT
+ Coordinate care with other services, manage referrals and medical records, and schedule interpreter services as needed
+ Triage phone calls, provide service information, and ensure accurate patient identification and admission
+ Perform front desk duties including check-in, discharge, appointment scheduling, and time-of-service payment collection
+ May float between departments and take on lead responsibilities; perform additional duties as assigned **REQUIREMENTS**
+ High School graduation or equivalent
+ Three years of healthcare, administrative experience
