**Job Title: Assembler**
**Job Description**
As an Assembler, you manufacture and prepare all parts needed to build complete window units, deliver these parts to the appropriate stations, and assemble them into finished windows. You accurately fit components together to build sashes and frames, install hardware in the correct position, and secure it to each part. You carefully inspect windows during assembly to detect and remove defective parts, ensuring every unit functions properly before packaging. You also remain open to cross-training and learning additional roles in the shop to support overall production needs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Manufacture and prepare all necessary parts required to build complete window units.
+ Assemble window components into finished units, including sashes and frames, according to production specifications.
+ Correctly fit and align parts together to ensure proper function and appearance of the windows.
+ Install and secure hardware in the correct position on each part, using hand and power tools as needed.
+ Inspect windows during each stage of assembly to identify, remove, and replace defective parts.
+ Verify that completed windows operate properly and meet quality standards before packaging.
+ Use tape measures, hand tools, and power tools to measure, cut, and assemble parts accurately.
+ Work efficiently on an assembly line or production station to meet daily and weekly output goals.
+ Follow written instructions, diagrams, or basic blueprints to complete assembly tasks correctly.
+ Handle general labor tasks related to production, such as moving materials and organizing work areas.
+ Operate basic machinery or equipment associated with the assembly process as required.
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
+ Collaborate with team members and support cross-functional tasks within the shop as needed.
+ Participate in cross-training to learn additional production roles and adapt to changing workload demands.
**Essential Skills**
+ At least 6 months of experience in production, assembly, construction, or manufacturing.
+ Proven assembly skills in a production or manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to accurately measure using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools.
+ Installation skills for fitting and securing hardware and components.
+ Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and machinery.
+ Ability to read and follow basic instructions, diagrams, or blueprints for assembly tasks.
+ Strong attention to detail to detect defects and ensure quality standards.
+ Adaptability and willingness to be cross-trained in multiple roles within the shop.
+ Ability to perform general labor tasks, including standing for long periods and handling materials.
+ Reliable attendance and ability to work the scheduled shifts.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Previous assembly experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
+ Experience using hand tools and power tools in a production setting.
+ experience in mechanical assembly, construction, remodeling, or machine operation.
+ Comfort working on an assembly line and meeting production targets.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
+ No formal certifications required.

**Work Environment**
This is a fully on-site, contract-to-hire role based in Iowa, working in a large manufacturing facility focused on window and egress system production. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch break, and there is potential for Friday work depending on production demand. You are on your feet throughout the shift, performing hands-on assembly work using hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and basic machinery in a fast-paced production and assembly line environment. The building is not climate-controlled, so temperatures can become very hot or very cold depending on the season. Recommended attire includes jeans, a work-appropriate shirt, and closed-toed shoes; shorts are not allowed, and steel-toe footwear is not required for window assembly. All necessary personal protective equipment, including ear and eye protection, is provided, and safety practices are an integral part of daily operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Adel, IA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
