**Description:**
Mercy Fitzgerald, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Microbiology Supervisor to join our Lab team!

Ensures that assigned responsibilities are performed with the utmost of dignity for individual patients and staff members, with excellence in all functions and with a concern for efficiency.
- Performs, and reports monthly, to the Director of Consolidated Laboratory Services:
- Quality assurance parameters
- Continuing Education activities
- Any departmental or hospital problems
- Statistics
- Checks necessary daily reports for errors and corrects and notifies necessary personnel:
- Caused by computer system
- Caused by Technologists/Technician error
- Caused by instrument problems
- Ensures that all Preventative Maintenance is performed on schedule, all troubleshooting, corrective action and reports are documented in an instrument/equipment log book.
- Accountable for the laboratory activities 24 hours per day, with delegation to other supervisors or senior Technologists as required.
- Ensures that laboratory always complies with all accrediting agency regulations, i.e., AABB, CAP, PA State
- Interactions with physicians and other hospital departments to follow up on:
- Complaints
- Changes in protocol
- Problems or unusual circumstances
- Demonstrates broad knowledge of all aspects of assigned section, i.e., theoretical and practical application.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology
+ MLT (ASCP) certified, LA (ASCP) certified, or meet the training and/or experience requirements for MLT certification.
