Position: Nurse Practitioner

Location: Simpson General Hospital Medical Clinic(s)

Status: PRN

Schedule: Varies

Reports To: Chief of Staff / Clinic Director


About the Role:

As a Nurse Practitioner at SGH, you'll provide autonomous, patient-centered care in our clinic setting. You'll diagnose and treat a range of health conditions, develop personalized care plans, and educate patients to support long-term wellness. What You'll Do:

  • Perform clinical assessments, exams, and diagnoses
  • Order lab tests and interpret results
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications within scope of practice
  • Conduct routine procedures and provide follow-up care
  • Refer patients to specialists as needed
  • Deliver general and preventive healthcare
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure high-quality care
  • Follow hospital protocols and safety procedures, including PPE and infection control
  • Participate in clinical rounding and complete documentation in EMRs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Master's degree required)
  • Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience preferred
  • Current Mississippi NP licensure (Family, Adult, or Acute Care)
  • Prescriptive authority (Mississippi BON & DEA)
  • BLS certification

  • Excellent bedside manners and interpersonal communication
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of healthcare laws, safety standards, and EMRs
  • Organized, dependable, and compassionate under pressure

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Use of hands and upper body strength for procedures
  • Visual and auditory acuity to monitor patients and communicate clearly
  • Occasional bending, twisting, lifting, and use of protective gear
