Position: Nurse Practitioner
Location: Simpson General Hospital Medical Clinic(s)
Status: PRN
Schedule: Varies
Reports To: Chief of Staff / Clinic Director
About the Role:
As a Nurse Practitioner at SGH, you'll provide autonomous, patient-centered care in our clinic setting. You'll diagnose and treat a range of health conditions, develop personalized care plans, and educate patients to support long-term wellness. What You'll Do:
- Perform clinical assessments, exams, and diagnoses
- Order lab tests and interpret results
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe medications within scope of practice
- Conduct routine procedures and provide follow-up care
- Refer patients to specialists as needed
- Deliver general and preventive healthcare
- Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure high-quality care
- Follow hospital protocols and safety procedures, including PPE and infection control
- Participate in clinical rounding and complete documentation in EMRs
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Master's degree required)
- Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience preferred
- Current Mississippi NP licensure (Family, Adult, or Acute Care)
- Prescriptive authority (Mississippi BON & DEA)
- BLS certification

- Knowledge of healthcare laws, safety standards, and EMRs

Physical Requirements:
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods
- Use of hands and upper body strength for procedures
- Visual and auditory acuity to monitor patients and communicate clearly
- Occasional bending, twisting, lifting, and use of protective gear
