**Job Title: Janitor & Grounds Keeper** **Job Description** The Environmental Service Attendant performs a full range of custodial and general cleaning duties to keep campus facilities and grounds clean, safe, and orderly. This role supports a variety of campus buildings, including dormitories, academic facilities, athletic spaces, and surrounding grounds, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained environment for all occupants and visitors. **Responsibilities** + Perform daily custodial and cleaning duties to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment across assigned campus areas. + Clean and sanitize offices, dorm rooms, common areas, restrooms, hallways, and other interior spaces as assigned. + Carry out general labor tasks related to cleaning and custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal. + Maintain cleanliness in academic buildings, ensuring classrooms, offices, and public areas are presentable and ready for use. + Support dormitory cleanliness by cleaning shared spaces, hallways, and other residential areas on assigned shifts. + Assist with cleaning and upkeep of athletic facilities, ensuring that these areas remain neat, safe, and ready for activities. + Perform groundskeeping tasks to keep exterior campus areas clean and orderly, including picking up debris and supporting outdoor cleanliness. + Follow established cleaning procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards while using custodial supplies and equipment. + Work assigned shifts reliably, including weekday and weekend schedules, to ensure consistent coverage of campus cleaning needs. + Communicate any maintenance or safety issues observed during cleaning to the appropriate personnel. **Essential Skills** + Ability to perform custodial and general cleaning duties reliably and consistently. + Capability to handle general labor tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods as required by cleaning work. + Basic understanding of cleaning practices such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash collection. + Ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules, and established procedures. + Reliability in adhering to assigned work hours and shift schedules. + No prior experience required. + No specific certifications required. + No formal education requirements. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Willingness to learn proper use of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained. + Strong attention to detail to ensure all assigned areas are thoroughly cleaned. + Positive attitude and willingness to support a clean and welcoming campus environment. + Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekdays and weekends, as assigned. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a stable opportunity with a clear pathway from contract to hire over a three-month period, supported by yearly raises that recognize consistent performance. Work takes place primarily in temperature-controlled indoor environments, with some duties involving groundskeeping and general outdoor cleanliness as assigned. Shifts are available across multiple schedules, including 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday for groundskeeping, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Sunday through Thursday for dorms, and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Tuesday through Saturday for dorms. The position involves hands-on custodial and general labor tasks, working with standard cleaning tools, supplies, and equipment in a structured, routine-driven setting. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bowling Green, KY. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $13.72 - $13.72/hr.
