Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Garden Grove, California. This role is ideal for an individual who is detail-oriented and experienced in managing financial transactions, reconciliations, and accounts receivable processes. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the company's financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Record and post cash transactions from the bank into the company's accounting system.
- Manage and maintain an organized accounts receivable ledger to ensure timely processing.
- Prepare weekly bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
- Create and post journal entries during month-end close processes.
- Conduct credit checks and perform sanctions screening to ensure compliance.
- Facilitate overdue debtors review meetings and provide actionable insights.
- Assist in pursuing overdue payments and resolving outstanding debts.
- Support the team with ad-hoc financial data requests and reporting needs. Requirements - Proven experience in managing General Ledger transactions and processes.
- Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) workflows and systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains Accounting software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in handling financial data.
- Ability to perform reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients.
- Capability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
