Job Description

You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing. **Job Summary and Qualifications** As a Quality Coordinator Peer Review you will plan and coordinate monitoring of quality and appropriateness of patient care provided by members of the Medical Staff working with Service Chiefs. In addition, you will coordinates OPPE and FPPE requirements with Service Chiefs and Medical Staff Office. You will be an active member in Nursing care evaluation structure and coordination, and work with Quality Leadership to meet quality and organizational goals. **What you will do in this role:** 1.Utilize available organizational databases and staff referrals to identify Medical and Nursing Staff Performance Improvement (PI) opportunities. 2.Interact with Medical Staff, Administration, Department Leaders and other interdisciplinary staff in performance of case reviews, screenings for identified cases, aggregating data and improvement for Medical and Nursing Staff Committees. 3.Collaborate with Medical Staff Services to: ·Evaluate and implement PI activities to support the re-credentialing of medical staff members including OPPE and FPPE. ·Review and/or create organizational and Medical Staff policies and procedures pertinent to Medical Staff PI. 4.Collaborate with Nursing Service to: ·Facilitate Nursing Care Evaluation Committee. ·Identify, evaluate and implement Performance Improvement (PI) activities. 5.Provide reports for the Medical Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees related to medical staff quality activities. 6.Provide reports for Nursing Service related to Nursing Staff quality activities. 7.Respond to external inquires and/or concerns regarding Medical and Nursing Staff care. 8.Work collaboratively with Risk Management to reduce Medical Staff risk issues. 9.Support and/or lead organizational and department specific activities outside of usual scope, as assigned. **What qualifications you will need:** + Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. + Bachelors Degree in Nursing BSN (MSN preferred). + Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License. + 3 or more years of acute care clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. + Procedural and/or surgical clinical experience helpful; exposure to medical staff peer review/PI highly desirable. + Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) within one year of position acceptance/hire date. + American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification. **Benefits** Chippenham Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
