**Job Title: General Production Worker** **Job Description** This role focuses on industrial cleaning and general production support in a demanding steel mill environment. You use hand tools and power equipment to clean machinery and surrounding work areas, remove ash and debris, and help maintain a safe and orderly facility. The position involves physically intensive tasks, including frequent lifting, bending, and climbing, while following strict safety and personal protective equipment requirements. **Responsibilities** + Use hand tools and equipment to perform thorough cleaning tasks on machinery and surrounding work areas. + Operate shovels, scrapers, power washing equipment, hoses, and similar tools to remove debris and buildup. + Clean ash from produced material and shovel it into buckets for proper disposal. + Clean oil, spills, grease, ash, lime, and other residues from areas around machinery and production equipment. + Perform comprehensive cleaning of entire machines during scheduled shutdowns. + Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment in designated areas, including double hearing protection, fire-resistant coveralls, eye protection, and hard hats where needed. + Climb ladders attached to machinery and use stairs to access elevated or hard-to-reach areas for cleaning. + Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted on a repetitive basis as part of daily tasks. + Repetitively stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, or crawl to access and clean tight or confined spaces around equipment. + Support general clean-up and housekeeping efforts throughout the facility to maintain a safe, organized work environment. + Work varied hours, including early start times or extended shifts, to meet production and cleaning requirements. **Essential Skills** + Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted on a repetitive basis. + Ability to work varied hours when required, including early start times or extended shifts. + Comfort working in hot, dirty, loud, dusty, and oily conditions typical of a steel mill. + Ability to safely use hand tools such as shovels and scrapers for extended periods. + Ability to use power washing equipment and hoses, or willingness to learn. + Capability to climb ladders and stairs safely while wearing required PPE. + Physical ability to repetitively stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, or crawl as part of daily tasks. + Strong adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in landscaping or farming may be considered in addition to manufacturing, industrial, or construction experience. + Previous experience with power washing or hydro blasting equipment. + Experience with industrial cleaning in heavy industrial environments. + Understanding of confined space practices or respirator use. + Comfort working as part of a third-party contractor team within a steel mill. + Willingness to participate in all required site-specific screenings and orientations. **Why Work Here?** You join a team that values reliability, safety, and hands-on work in a dynamic industrial setting. The environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, with approximately 45 workers currently on site and plans to add more team members. A standard schedule is a 40-hour work week with a typical start time around 6:30 a.m. for 8-hour shifts. Overtime may involve starting earlier or working later than the normal shift, with occasional start times as early as 2:00 a.m. or as late as 8:00 a.m. You regularly use hand tools, shovels, scrapers, power washing equipment, hoses, and other industrial cleaning tools. Personal protective equipment is mandatory and includes steel-toe boots above the ankle, eye protection (glasses or goggles), hard hat where required, ear plugs with double hearing protection in certain areas, and fire-resistant coveralls that you wear at all times. The facility emphasizes strict safety practices and expects all workers to comply with site-specific requirements and screenings. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delta, OH. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
