Job Description
Professor or Associate Professor (Program Administration)
**FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT**
The Barry Commoner Center for Health and the Environment, Queens College, CUNY, is an environmental and occupational health research center celebrating its 60th year of existence. It addresses real world environmental and occupational health threats in a manner that includes communities and seeks solutions that ameliorate the health impacts of those threats. BCCHE emphasizes a scientific approach that facilitates public participation in gathering information and developing solutions and that interacts extensively with people and organizations that determine or are affected by these policy choices.
Current research at the Commoner Center addresses early detection of occupational disease in a national medical screening program of nuclear weapons workers; extensive monitoring of air pollution in New York City; salient occupational health problems of New York City immigrant workers; and the long-term impact of World Trade Center-related exposures on health.
Queens College is part of CUNY, the City University of New York, the nation's leading urban public university that consistently ranks at or near the top of social mobility rankings. Queens College is an urban, minority-serving public institution dedicated to serving the people of New York by delivering an accessible, affordable, and excellent education.
