**General Description:** + Establish and manage a team of AI experts, which will serve as the strategic backbone to lead AI strategic direction and drive AI adoption within R&D + Provide expert consultation, and guide operational teams on AI/ML-related technical frameworks, methodologies, and emerging technologies **Strategic Leadership:** + Develop data strategy and drive AI adoption for BeOne R&D, aligning with the R&D data excellence vision and objectives. + Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in AI, ML, and data science to ensure BeOne R&D equipped with the cutting edge technology. + Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize key areas within BeOne R&D where AI and data science can drive significant improvements. **AI/ML Consultation and Expertise:** + Serve as the primary point of contact for AI/ML-related inquiries and strategic guidance within the R&D department. + Serve as expert consultation on technical strategy, AI/ML frameworks, methodologies, and guide team on advanced AI techniques such as prompting engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and other cutting-edge technologies. **Team Establishment and Management:** + Establish and lead a high-performing team of AI and data science experts. + Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and collaboration within GSDS team and across R&D business functions. **Collaboration and Cross-Functional Integration:** + Work closely with cross-functional teams within R&D and BeOne GTS to ensure seamless integration of AI into BeOne infrastructures and empower BeOne business operations. + Collaborate with external partners, academic institutions, and industry consortia to leverage external expertise and resources. **Governance and Compliance:** + Ensure all AI and data initiatives comply with regulatory requirements **Essential Functions of the Job:** + Full stack experience and proven track record of developing and implementing AI strategies. + Knowledge of prompting engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), fine-tuning and other advanced AI techniques. + Experience in leading and managing high-performing teams. + Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to align AI initiatives with organizational goals. + Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments and functions. + Passion for innovation and staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in AI and data science. + Creative problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges. **Education Required:** + Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Experience in pharmaceutical R&D or biotech industry is a plus. + Minimum of 5+ years of experience in AI, data science, or related fields.
