The Controller oversees the entire Accounting department and all accounting functions. This role maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets

  • Oversees the activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance

  • Oversees the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.

  • Establishes and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value

  • Responds to SVP of Support and COO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs

  • Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports

  • Performs additional duties as assigned


SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • CPA certification preferred, but not required


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Frequently sit, stand and walk

  • Regularly required to talk or hear

  • Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

  • Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

  • Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.
