Torden is seeking qualified Arabic linguists for positions on US Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay (GTMO).
Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to interpret, translate and transcribe between Modern Standard Arabic and English
Must meet interpretation and translation language assessment skills test to an ILR 3 minimum in AD - MSA and 2+ in English
Must have typing and computer skills
Must be able to think quickly and work in a professional atmosphere as part of a team
Ability to understand the essentials of all speech in a standard dialect and have broad vocabulary to rarely require assistance for paraphrasing or explanation.
Ability to follow accurately the essentials of conversations between educated native speakers
Ability to understand radio broadcasts, news stories similar to wire service reports, oral reports, some oral technical reports, and public addresses on non-technical subjects.
Due to location of assignment, must meet medical and dental screening requirements as well as immunizations up to date
Security Requirements:
Individuals must have an active TS/SCI security clearance
All candidates must undergo a U.S. Government Counterintelligence (CI) screening
