Alleghany Highlands Community Services provides services and support to individuals in our community with behavioral health challenges and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Psychiatric Nurse position is primarily responsible for providing nursing services to adults and children. The psychiatric services unit provides nursing services, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and nursing services to adults and children with serious mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, substance use disorders and/or intellectual disorders.

REQUIREMENTS

• Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) (required)
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required)
• Valid Driver's License (required)
• Four years of experience combined with experience in a psychiatric setting (preferred)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Primary Nurse position is primarily responsible for providing primary care screening and monitoring to any child diagnosed with a serious emotional disturbance (SED) and receiving targeted case management, or any adult diagnosed with a serious mental illness (SMI) and receiving targeted case management. Outpatient nurse will assist with daily clinic functions such as telehealth, medication management, and Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) program.
