**Job Title: Carpenter Laborer**
**Job Description**
This role involves supporting the construction of Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) buildings and pole barns in the Rock County area. The position is a 3-4 month contract with the potential for longer-term work based on performance. You will perform a variety of carpentry and general construction tasks, working outdoors in all weather conditions and collaborating closely with a small, tight-knit crew.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist with the construction of Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) buildings and pole barns in the Rock County area.
+ Perform general labor and commercial construction tasks, including site preparation, material handling, and cleanup.
+ Carry out rough carpentry and framing work under the direction of experienced carpenters.
+ Regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
+ Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks.
+ Accurately read and use a tape measure to cut, mark, and align materials.
+ Follow construction plans and directions to ensure structures meet required specifications.
+ Travel from the shop to various jobsites using a personal vehicle, arriving on time and ready to work.
+ Maintain and use personal hand tools, keeping them in good working condition.
+ Adhere to all safety procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
+ Work cooperatively with a small team of carpenters and laborers to complete projects efficiently.
+ Keep the work area organized and assist with end-of-day cleanup and tool storage.
**Essential Skills**
+ At least 1 year of carpentry experience in rough and/or finish carpentry, validated with references.
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly throughout the workday.
+ Experience with rough carpentry and framing in a construction environment.
+ Proficiency using common hand tools such as hammers, tape measures, speed squares, and pencils.
+ Ability to safely operate basic power tools used in construction.
+ Capability to read and accurately interpret a tape measure for cutting and layout.
+ Valid driver's license to commute from the shop to various jobsites.
+ Reliability and punctuality for a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. work schedule.
+ Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
+ Strong attention to safety practices on active construction sites.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in commercial construction or general construction labor.
+ Comfort working in a small team environment with close collaboration.
+ Ownership of personal hand tools such as a hammer, tool pouch, tape measure, speed square, and pencil.
+ Willingness to take direction and learn additional carpentry techniques on the job.

**Work Environment**
You will work primarily outdoors on active construction sites in the Rock County area, exposed to all weather conditions. The team consists of about four people, fostering a small-company atmosphere with close collaboration. Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will use personal hand tools such as a hammer, tool pouch, tape measure, speed square, and pencil, while power tools are provided on site. The dress code includes work boots, durable work pants, and appropriate safety gear such as a hard hat and safety glasses, in line with standard construction site requirements.

This is a Permanent position based out of Janesville, WI.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
