**Job Title: Quality Inspection Technician** **Job Description** The Quality Inspection Technician ensures the accuracy, reliability, and availability of gauges and measuring equipment used in production. This role focuses on modifying and rebuilding gage stands and fixtures, performing preventive maintenance and calibrations, supporting measurement system analysis, and maintaining detailed documentation in a gage management system. **Responsibilities** + Modify, repair, and rebuild gage stands, fixtures, and tooling to meet revised engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications, and to improve measurement repeatability. + Perform routine preventive maintenance on gauge stands, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components such as dials and set screws to ensure optimal performance. + Calibrate and certify gauges and measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, thread gages, and indicators, in accordance with established schedules, standards, and procedures. + Design or assist in the design and fabrication of new custom gauges and fixtures to support changing production requirements. + Conduct Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies to evaluate measurement system capability and identify sources of variation. + Troubleshoot measurement issues on the production floor and provide timely solutions to support consistent product quality. + Maintain meticulous records of gage modifications, repairs, calibrations, and certification data within a gage management system such as GageTrak or High QA. + Collaborate with production and engineering teams to interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T requirements and ensure gauges align with current specifications. + Use appropriate hand tools and mechanical techniques to perform repairs, adjustments, and rebuilds on gauges and related equipment. + Follow all established quality, safety, and preventive maintenance procedures while working with gauges, fixtures, and tools. **Essential Skills** + Hands-on experience with mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of gauges, fixtures, or similar mechanical equipment. + Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications. + Proficiency in using and calibrating precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, thread gages, and indicators. + Experience performing gauge modifications, rebuilds, and adjustments using appropriate hand tools. + Knowledge of Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies and measurement system analysis. + Strong documentation skills with the ability to maintain accurate calibration and repair records. + Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all measurement and documentation activities. + Ability to troubleshoot measurement issues on the production floor and implement effective corrective actions. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Familiarity with gage management systems such as GageTrak or High QA. + Mechanical systems or mechanical maintenance. + Experience working with diesel or industrial equipment is beneficial but not required. + Comfort using a variety of hand tools for repair, adjustment, and assembly work. + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with production and engineering teams. **Why Work Here?** You will join a production-focused environment where quality and precision are highly valued, and your expertise directly supports reliable manufacturing outcomes. The role follows a first-shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a structured daytime work routine. Safety practices and adherence to established quality and maintenance procedures are an integral part of the daily work environment. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Morristown, TN. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
