The Renal Dialysis Technician is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of the RN and is responsible for the operation the dialysis equipment. **Qualifications** High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a PCT training program, or at least one-year previous experience in hemodialysis required. Experience in hemodialysis preferred. If an experienced dialysis technician, CCHT certification is required at time of hire. If no previous dialysis experience, must have previous medical/surgical experience and dialysis certification must be obtained within 18 months from date of hire. Credit for previous PCT, MA, or Phlebotomy experience given for those with internal experience only. **Additional Qualifications:** Must possess strong organizational skills. Must demonstrate positive and professional interpersonal skills, including the ability to cooperate with others. Must demonstrate knowledge of basic computer skills. This will include training for the electronic medical record (EMR), Internet Explorer, and electronic timekeeping. Must be able to flex hours to meet the demands of the clinical area or take call, if required by the department. Physical requirements as outlined by Employee Health Physical Assessment Form. **License and Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS).
