The AI Runtime and Compiler team within MTC at Intel has an opportunity available for a Compiler Engineer to join our team and make significant impact to Visual Studio's MSVC compiler toolchain across Intel's business - Cloud, AI/ML, Edge, Gaming and Client targeting latest and future Intel's client and server product line. You will be working on Intel's newest and cutting-edge products enabling and delivering advanced compiler optimizations specific to Intel architecture. You will work with diverse team of passionate compiler engineers to help deliver best-in-class performance and frictionless developer experience to accelerate adoption of Intel architecture in Microsoft Visual C++ compiler tool chain. **Role and Responsibilities:**
+ Design, implement, and maintain typical compiler backend pipeline optimizers, and code generation components.
+ Develop and optimize code generation and transformation techniques to improve performance and efficiency
+ Collaborate with hardware architects and software developers to define and implement compiler optimizations for new hardware architectures.
+ Perform thorough testing and validation of compiler features and optimizations.
+ Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in generated code, using various workloads
+ Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in compiler technology and apply them to our products.
+ Mentor and guide junior team members, providing technical leadership and expertise.

**Qualifications:**
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
**Minimum qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of technical experience with the following:
+ Experience in compiler backend design and implementation
+ Application of compiler concepts and techniques with experience in LLVM, GCC, or other compiler frameworks
+ Experience in C/C++, and object oriented programming
+ Experience in creating and characterizing performance using micro- and macro-benchmarks
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ Advanced degree (Master's or PhD in relevant fields of study) with 2+ years of hands-on experience
+ Contributions to open-source compiler projects
+ Knowledge of x86 Instruction Set Architecture and advanced CPU features such as AVX, AMX etc
+ Knowledge of Operating system internals, driver development, scheduling, cache, register allocation etc.
+ Knowledge of computer architecture, operating system and performance engineering
Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:
$169,820.00-$239,750.00

**Work Model for this Role**
