**Job Title: General Production Worker**
**Job Description**
The General Production Worker supports metal fabrication and manufacturing operations by performing spot welding, powder coating, inspections, and general production tasks in a warehouse and production environment. This role follows detailed work instructions, uses hand and power tools, and maintains a clean and safe work area while contributing to the efficient flow of production.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform spot welding on parts according to established work instructions and quality standards.
+ Apply powder coating to parts following specified procedures and work instructions.
+ Inspect parts and monitor weld quality throughout the production process to ensure they meet required specifications.
+ Dress and maintain weld tips to support consistent weld quality and equipment performance.
+ Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned production tasks.
+ Handle and work with sheet metal components during fabrication and assembly processes.
+ Assist with general labor tasks such as packaging, material handling, and organizing parts as needed.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free work area throughout the shift.
+ Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
+ Report any quality issues, equipment concerns, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
+ Support team members and collaborate to meet production targets and deadlines.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to follow detailed work instructions for spot welding and powder coating processes.
+ Capability to perform basic inspections and monitor weld quality with attention to detail.
+ Comfort working with sheet metal in a production or fabrication setting.
+ Experience with general labor tasks in a warehouse or production environment.
+ Basic proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely.
+ Strong commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
+ Reliability and consistency in attendance and task completion.
+ Willingness to learn every part of the production process.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Previous experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, or welding is a plus.
+ Exposure to packaging or material handling tasks in a production environment is beneficial.
+ Interest in developing skills in welding, powder coating, and metal fabrication.
+ Ability to work well in a team-oriented production environment.
+ Strong work ethic and eagerness to develop new technical skills through training and hands-on experience.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a metal fabrication and warehouse/production environment. You will work around sheet metal components, welding equipment, and powder coating systems, using various hand tools and power tools throughout the day. You can expect to spend most of the day on your feet, working at production stations and moving materials as needed, while adhering to all safety practices and standard production procedures.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, CT.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
