Job Description
Job Title: Clinical Research Specialist Job Description The Clinical Research Specialist focuses on clinical research data, including data entry and data abstraction, to support oncology research activities. This role works extensively within electronic medical record systems, particularly EPIC, to screen patients, document information from each appointment, and log adverse events. Responsibilities + Perform accurate and timely data entry for clinical research studies, ensuring completeness and compliance with study protocols. + Conduct detailed data abstraction from electronic medical records and other source documents to support oncology research activities. + Work extensively in EPIC and other electronic medical record systems to navigate medical records, identify relevant clinical information, and extract data. + Use clinical data to screen patients for study eligibility based on protocol-defined criteria. + Enter information from each patient appointment into study databases and logs, maintaining organized and up-to-date records. + Document and log adverse events in accordance with regulatory and study-specific requirements. + Assist with scheduling monitor visits and coordinating logistics related to monitoring activities. + Lead tours for study monitors, demonstrating familiarity with research processes, documentation, and site procedures. + Support clinical research coordinators and nurses with various administrative and operational tasks related to clinical trials. Required Skills & Experience + Proven experience working with data in a research setting. + Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. + Experience with data abstraction from medical or clinical records. + Ability to navigate electronic medical record systems; EPIC experience is strongly preferred. + Familiarity with clinical research processes and workflows. + Ability to interpret and extract relevant information from medical records. + Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and studies simultaneously. + Effective communication skills to collaborate with coordinators, nurses, and other research staff. + Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
