Job Description

JOB TITLE: General Manager - Reins Deli

Starting Salary: 65k/year

Salary Range: 65k-90k/year

 

REPORTS TO: Ownership

 

JOB SUMMARY: As the General Manager (GM) of Rein's Deli, your role is pivotal in ensuring the overall success and smooth operation of the restaurant. You will oversee every aspect of daily operations, from managing staff and ensuring exceptional customer experiences to driving financial performance and fostering a positive work environment.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Will train on opening and closing; will train in key departments for the purpose of understanding our procedures and workflow.
  2. BE A LEADER. Lead and supervise all departments, promoting coordination and respect amongst all departments and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  3. Provide leadership and guidance to department managers, supervisors, and staff ensuring they adhere to company polices and uphold Deli's standards.
  4. Select, train and promote management staff, in coordination with HR/Ownership.
  5. Schedule and conduct, with assistance from HR/Ownership, biweekly management meetings and biyearly management evaluations.
  6. Collaborate with Ownership to discover and implement strategic objectives
  7. Set clear expectations and goals for department managers with continuous monitoring of their performance, needs, and shortcomings.
  8. Achieve respectful employee and management conduct through effective and consistent disciplinary actions to staff and management.
  9. Develop and implement staffing plans, goals, and budgets with weekly overview and review of department schedules. Makes recommendations using Labor and Sales reports to ownership.
  10. Oversee employee training to ensure they understand company standards, policies and procedures. Show and set the expectation you need reflected in the Deli.
  11. Maintain a customer first mentality within management and staff, handling escalated customer issues/complaints/incidents, and monitor customer feedback for improvements within the Deli.
  12. Ensures and follows up on the compliance of health, safety and sanitation regulations to mitigate potential risks and maintain a safe environment, rotation of product being critical.
  13. Lead initiatives for operational improvements and change and foster a culture of continuous learning and development among staff.
  14. Operates as a person of contact and coordinator for donations and community events.
  15. Takes the initiative to work a position during peak periods as needed, Will not be included or counted for lineups throughout the day.
  16. Assist in policy and procedure up-dates.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of restaurant management experience
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as a restaurant General Manager or similar role
  • ServSafe Manager Certification - Must be valid or able to renew.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and some nights.
  • CRITICAL - Must be capable of task delegation and follow through
  • CRITICAL - Must be able to train others to your level of operational excellence
  • CRITICAL - Must be capable of working effectively with many different personalities
  • CRITICAL - Must be willing to engage in difficult conversations with staff

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Available to work within business hours, a minimum of 8 hours a day in an combined office/restaurant setting.
  • Reading skills and memorization are necessary
  • Excellent hearing is required
  • Quick comprehension is necessary for excellent performance
  • Dexterity and agility are important
  • Working knowledge of computer skills, Office 365 and its applications
  • Will need to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced and enclosed area
  • Hazards include, but are not limited to, slipping, tripping, falls, cuts and burns
