Job Description
Description We are looking for an entry-level Legal Counsel to support a growing healthcare-focused software organization in a fully remote role. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside commercial, compliance, and operational teams while building in-house experience in a fast-moving business environment. The role is well suited for an early-career attorney who is motivated to expand their legal skill set, contribute practical guidance, and support day-to-day business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and negotiate a variety of business agreements, including master service agreements, statements of work, confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts, and customized commercial arrangements.
- Oversee agreements throughout the full contract process, from initial request through signature, while monitoring important dates, renewal terms, and ongoing obligations.
- Research legal and regulatory issues affecting the organization, with attention to healthcare matters, privacy considerations, and general commercial law topics.
- Partner with compliance and other internal teams to address shared legal matters and support coordinated risk management efforts.
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of contract templates, guidance materials, and legal workflows to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Evaluate and assist with the adoption of technology-enabled legal solutions, including AI-based tools that strengthen legal operations.
- Provide practical legal support to cross-functional stakeholders by helping translate legal requirements into business-friendly guidance. Requirements - Juris Doctor degree and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- At least 1 year of relevant legal experience, preferably involving commercial contracting or corporate legal work.
- Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of commercial law principles and an interest in legal issues related to healthcare and data privacy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with business partners.
- Interest in moving into an in-house legal role within a collaborative, technology-driven organization.
- Organized approach to managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced remote work environment.
