**Job Title: Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic**
**Job Description**
A Heavy Equipment Core Drill Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heavy equipment, specifically core drills and related tools, to ensure safe and efficient operation. This includes inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on equipment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Regularly inspect core drills and associated equipment for any defects, wear, or damage.
+ Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment manuals.
+ Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and other preventative measures to extend equipment lifespan.
+ Replace worn or damaged components, including bearings, seals, hoses, and other parts.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues, often requiring in-depth knowledge of drilling equipment systems.
+ Travel to job sites to diagnose and repair equipment failures as needed.
+ Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
+ Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures when working on equipment.
+ Assist in the management of equipment inventory, ensuring that parts and supplies are readily available.
+ Coordinate with other team members, such as drill operators, to ensure smooth operation.
+ Complete and maintain accurate documentation of repairs and maintenance, including work orders, repair logs, and other relevant records.
**Essential Skills**
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with heavy equipment, especially core drills.
+ Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment manuals.
+ Skilled in repairing and replacing components, including engine, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
+ In-depth knowledge of core drills, drilling rigs, and associated tools.
+ Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, including drill operators and supervisors.
+ Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex mechanical issues.
+ Ability to maintain accurate and organized records of repairs and maintenance.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with troubleshooting, heavy equipment, diesel engines, and hydraulics is recommended.

**Work Environment**
This position involves working outdoors, often at job sites. You will be required to handle heavy equipment and tools in various weather conditions. The role demands physical stamina and adherence to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
