What You'll Do:

As a Dining Room Manager, you will carry out our Mission of Love by ensuring the care of our residents is provided in a safe, caring, timely, and appropriate manner by maintaining the appropriate competencies and skills through continuing education that encompasses all these areas. This will include assisting our residents in reaching or attaining the highest potential in their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

You will oversee the operations of healthcare and personal care dining by developing and managing policies,
procedures and systems that will positively impact hospitality and improve the quality of services.
Strategize to compete with other long-term care and transitional care facilities to achieve high quality
results. Direct and support the appointed HCC Dining and Personal Care Dining Supervisors with
planning and management, and sales/revenue.

Our Dining Room Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations that pertain to food and nutritional care in a long-term care and personal care setting. Demonstrate knowledge of local, state, and federal sanitation regulation and HACCP guidelines and the ability to develop and implement effective food safety programs, includes both sanitation and HACCP, in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of quality of food preparation and general knowledge of various meal programs and create daily assurance of quality, timely, accurate and therapeutic diet distribution, and attractive overall plate presentation, through all phases of meal assembly adhering to monitoring tools, menus, and practices. Demonstrate the knowledge of general and therapeutic nutrition in menu planning.
  • Oversee sanitation inspections in all aspects of Health Care and Personal Care Dining at the Elizabethtown campus. Demonstrate knowledge of local, state, and federal sanitation regulation and HACCP guidelines and the ability to develop and implement effective food safety programs, including both sanitation and HACCP, in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Reduce and/or eliminate the risk of deficiency and create correction action plan according to findings.
  • Develop and implement written objectives, short-term and long-term goals for Health Care Center residents, Personal Care residents, to provide high quality programs consistent with the philosophy of the Masonic Village and Food Services Department.
  • Works together with the HCC/PC Dining Supervisors, and Nutrition Services to ensure accurate meal and supplement preparation, assembly, and distribution.
  • Supports the Assistant Director of Dining-HCC in completing monthly QI, quality improvement audits.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication with Health Care Center, Personal Care, residents to discuss individual dietary needs and changes. Perform spot checks and direct meal rounds for country kitchen meal services.
  • Develop and manage employee in-service education and establish internal equity among staff.
  • Assist your supervisor in developing and maintaining annual operating and capital budget for Health Care Dining, Personal Care Dining, and Village Cafe. Fiscally responsible for department budget and understands the financial implications of decisions. Develop, implement, and follow a responsible budget that permits for future planning and development. Works with Director in finalizing the budget for the department. Maintains and monitors monthly inventory record, monthly purchase summary and maintains record of meals served, take action where appropriate. Directs and/or conducts small ware
    inventory for the Health Care Center and Village Cafe.
  • Maintains schedule of employee evaluations to ensure completion by department supervisors.

What You Have:

  • College or Trade School degree in Food Services Management or equivalent, with a minimum of two years supervising experience in health care food service or Associate's degree in business management/administration program with emphasis on customer service skills preferred, with a minimum of five recent years of experience in customer service or related field.
  • Good oral and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail, proven organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to interact with fellow employees as a team member and to relate to board members, residents, employees, and other persons in a highly professional manner.
  • CDM certification required.
  • Current and proficient knowledge of office software, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, e-mail is essential.
