Located inside the historic Joseph Smith Memorial Building on Temple Square, our restaurants and event spaces offer unforgettable dining and event experiences in one of the most beautiful venues in Utah.

From upscale dining at The Roof Restaurant overlooking the Salt Lake Valley to elegant banquets and celebrations, our team delivers exceptional hospitality, outstanding food, and memorable guest experiences.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Executive Banquet Chef to lead culinary operations for our banquet and catering events. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality food execution, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and leading a team that delivers excellence at every event.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation and execution of all banquet meals, ensuring alignment with company standards
  • Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
  • Coordinate with event planning and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service execution
  • Manage Kitchen Inventory, including ordering, tracking, and maintaining proper stock levels
  • Monitor food quality and minimize waste through efficient kitchen practices
  • Effectively follow direction and implement necessary changes as directed by leadership
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a chef in a banquet, catering, of high-volume culinary environment
  • Strong culinary knowledge, including food preparation, presentation, and menu execution
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing kitchen staff and delegating responsibilities
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Experience with inventory management and ordering processes preferred
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Job Environment/Other Job Requirements

  • May be required to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends, early mornings, and holidays, to accommodate business needs
  • Commitment to maintaining professional appearance, hygiene standards, and all company dress & grooming guidelines and policies
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Ability to repetitively bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check, as well as abide by all company policies
  • Takes on additional duties as required or assigned by management
