Job Summary
The Food Hall Supervisor supports the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of Hey Day Market. This role is responsible for ensuring world-class guest service, maintaining food safety and operational standards, supporting food hall vendors and internal concepts, and assisting with team leadership and training. The Food Hall Supervisor plays a hands-on role in a fast-paced food hall environment while helping drive operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and profitability.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Assists the GM and AGM with scheduling and deployment of food hall team members.
- Supports onboarding, training, and development of team members.
- Ensures team members follow proper service, safety, and compliance standards.
- Provides leadership support during peak volume and special events.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Engage thoughtfully and professionally with all guests, clearly communicating the Hey Day Market concept and partnership with Auburn University.
- Lead effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, multi-tenant food hall environment.
- Support the GM and AGM in maintaining high health and safety standards, with a goal of achieving scores of 100 on all health inspections.
- Assist with proper ordering, receiving, and inventory of food hall and concept-specific supplies, including operational items when applicable.
- Perform lateral service and step into operational roles as needed to ensure smooth and efficient food hall and operations.
- Ensure all team members comply with Ithaka Hospitality Partners (IHP) standards and Alabama Responsible Vendor regulations, including verifying guest identification when applicable.
- During high-volume periods, take guest orders, operate the point-of-sale system, and assist with order execution across concepts as needed.
- Monitor and observe the guest experience, addressing concerns promptly and ensuring excellent service recovery when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment at all times.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures for the food hall.
- Execution of catering events, including service, loading, unloading and driving
- Support on- and off-campus catering operations, including gelato cater-outs when applicable.
- Serve as a day-to-day liaison between team members, vendors, and management to ensure standards are met.
- Enforce cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety practices across common areas and vendor spaces.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the GM or AGM.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous food & beverage, hospitality, or food hall experience preferred.
- Ability to complete the Alabama Responsible Vendor course (18+).
- ServSafe or Food Safety certification preferred or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.
- Valid driver's license required; must have access to a vehicle capable of hauling a small trailer (when catering duties apply).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise and frequent interruptions.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions using hands, wrists, shoulders, and back.
