The City of Pekin is currently hiring for a Residential Solid Waste Driver with a normally scheduled shift of Monday through Friday from 6:00AM to 2:30PM.

The purpose of this position is to collect refuse materials, operate trucks and perform other laborer tasks for residential garbage pick-up under the direction of the Operations Supervisor.

This is a union position with the Teamsters Local 627 Solid Waste Unit and a probationary rate of pay at $28.13 per hour which is 90% of the full scale pay. The position requires a valid Illinois CDL, the ability to pass a pre-employment solid waste physical with a lift test, and drug test. This CDL position also requires random drug testing as well.
