Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Helper position assists the Maintenance department with all activities. This role will assist Electricians, and Millwrights with general maintenance activities and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Complete new or ongoing projects (5S, Tool, etc.)
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists
• Complete designated rack PMs (including maintenance, cleaning and stripping)
• Monitor and maintain stripping tank process parameters
• General organizing/clean-up of shop floor areas as required
• General plant housekeeping. (basement, tenant floor cleaner, cupboard, backyard)
• Ensure work areas are clean, neat, and orderly and free of scrap materials
• Assist in changeovers as required
• Back up Production Associate as required
• Suggest Corrective Actions and/or Continuous Improvements
• Assist and implementation of new principles and practices
• Complete necessary audits (5S, LPA)
• Assist team members to achieve work goals and objectives
• Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures
• All other relevant duties and directed by the Tool Room or Maintenance Team Leaders/Managers

Key Requirements:

• Grade 12, GED, or equivalent
• Apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, or trades related training an asset
• Must have Forklift License or have ability to obtain Forklift License
• Must have Overhead Crane Certification or have ability to obtain Overhead Crane Certification
• Must have Aerial Lift Platform Certification or have ability to obtain Aerial Lift Platform Certification
• Computer efficiency and systems knowledge in all required areas
