Position: Social Media Summer Intern

We are a rapidly growing Canadian distributor of medical, hygiene, and cleaning products, dedicated to delivering exceptional service and high-quality National Brand solutions to healthcare, institutional, and commercial clients across Canada. We're expanding quickly and seeking an organized, resourceful, and proactive Social Media Intern to help support our fast-paced operations.

Position Overview

WCD Medical is looking for a creative, trend-savvy, and highly motivated Social Media Summer Intern to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves content creation, understands what performs well online, and is excited about using modern tools like AI, Canva, and other digital platforms to bring ideas to life.

You will work closely with our Marketing Manager to help create, organize, and schedule content across multiple accounts and social media platforms. We are looking for someone who is plugged into current social media trends, has a strong visual eye, and is eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Type: Summer Internship

Work Location: North York, Hybrid (one day per week in the office)

Pay Rate- $17.60-$20/hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week

Time: 8:30 am-5 pm

Responsibilities:

 

  • Create engaging social media content for multiple accounts
  • Design graphics, reels, stories, captions, and other digital assets
  • Schedule and organize posts across various social media platforms
  • Assist with content planning and campaign execution
  • Research and stay on top of current social media trends, sounds, formats, and platform updates
  • Use AI tools to support content creation, brainstorming, caption writing, and workflow efficiency
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and receive mentorship throughout the internship
  • Help maintain a consistent and professional brand presence across channels

What We're Looking For

  • Strong interest in social media, marketing, and digital content creation
  • Proficiency in Canva
  • Comfortable using AI tools for content creation and idea generation
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools such as Meta Business Suite, Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or similar platforms
  • Basic knowledge of platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok.
  • A strong understanding of social media trends and what makes content engaging
  • Good writing skills and an eye for design
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple accounts and deadlines
  • Experience with tools like CapCut, Adobe Express, ChatGPT, or other content creation/editing platforms is an asset
