We are seeking a skilled in-house Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to join our team. Scheduled work hours will be 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be reliable, and possess excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, semi-trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other company vehicles. The Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various systems, including brakes, hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel engines, and suspension components, while helping ensure DOT compliance throughout the fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on heavy equipment, semi-trucks, trailers, forklifts, and company vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and fleet vehicles.
- Inspect equipment and vehicles to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Perform brake, air system, hydraulic, pneumatic, suspension, and diesel engine repairs.
- Assist with DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet applicable safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, or similar role.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with air brakes, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, diesel engines, and trailer repairs.
- Knowledge of DOT inspection and maintenance requirements preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
