Position Type: Part-Time Non-Exempt

Starting Wage Range: $16.49 - $20.62 / hourly DOQ

Full Wage Range: $16.49 – $24.74

Summary

The Facility Rental Attendant Level 1 is responsible for the setup, supervision, and cleanup of private rentals and special events. Attendants assist renters, ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facility, and serve as a liaison between the renter and the Park District.

Qualifications – Education, Experience and Training

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and possess strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. This position requires a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with the public, as well as the ability to remain calm and make decisions in fast-paced or unexpected situations. Basic organizational and time management skills are essential to ensure events run smoothly from start to finish. CPR, First Aid and AED Certification required and if not certified, must become certified.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Greet and check in the renter responsible for the event.
  • Complete set up and take down of tables, chairs, and other event materials.
  • Verify the set-up is appropriate and as planned.
  • Walk through rental space with renter to review pre-event facility conditions.
  • Assist with setup and takedown of athletic equipment in the gymnasium as needed.
  • Monitor the event and enforce Park District rules as necessary.
  • Monitor common areas for cleanliness and perform light cleaning as needed.
  • Remove full garbage containers as needed.
  • Check the parking lot for alcohol use or other suspicious behavior.
  • Review facility conditions with the renter to ensure no damage and verify cleanliness at the end of the event.
  • Clean facility following the event.
  • Complete pre- and post-event rental reports.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.
