Job Description

Position Title: Quick Reactionary Force (QRF) Staff Instructor

Job Description: As a Quick Reactionary Force (QRF) Staff Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in the training and development of tactical operators in high-stakes environments. This position involves supporting advanced courses such as the Crisis Response Team (CRT), Advanced Crisis Response Team (ACRT), Quick Reaction Force (QRF), and Advanced Quick Reaction Force (AQRF). You will work collaboratively with the Lead Instructor to deliver world-class tactical training and ensure participants are equipped to handle complex scenarios effectively and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Support: Assist the Lead Instructor in the preparation, set-up, and breakdown of classrooms, ranges, tracks, storage facilities, and other training sites.
  • Instruction Delivery: Provide specialized instruction on tactical operations, including firearms, breaching, sharpshooting/observation, tactical planning, and incident management.
  • Crisis Response Expertise: Share real-world insights and strategies from experience in CRT missions such as hostage negotiations, high-risk warrants, barricade situations, and active shooter incidents.
  • Skill Development: Train participants in advanced techniques, ensuring proficiency in tactical emergency medical response and other specialty fields.
  • Curriculum Enhancement: Collaborate in the development and improvement of course materials and training modules to meet evolving operational needs.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or equivalent work experience. (One year of relevant work experience may substitute for one year of education.)
  • Crisis Response Experience: At least three (3) years of active participation in CRT missions, including roles in high-risk tactical operations.
  • Proven experience in tactical training, covering specialties like firearms, breaching, tactical planning, and sharpshooting/observation.
  • Completion of a recognized basic firearms instructor course with ongoing instructional experience.
  • Certification in tactical emergency medical response, such as TEMS, Tactical First Aid, FRO, Tactical Life Saver Technician, or TCC.
  • Graduate of a local, state, military, or Federal law enforcement academy.
  • Graduate of a local, state, military, or Federal SWAT or special weapons and tactics school (minimum 40 hours), such as CRT, SWAT, or Military Special Operations Training School.

Pay Grade: 13/5 Position Designation (PD#): 1006S, 1007S, 1008S, 1009S
