SUMMARY OF CDL DUMP TRUCK DRIVER AT LAYTON SERVICES

Responsible for operating a 6-axle dump truck to transport aggregate and construction materials to and from job sites across Central Ohio. Drivers must safely and efficiently maneuver dump truck in a variety of site conditions and traffic environments. This role requires flexibility to meet evolving site needs and strict adherence to safety protocols. Accurate recordkeeping and a dependable, self-motivated work ethic are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate 6-axle dump truck to transport material safely and efficiently.
• Maneuver the truck into loading and unloading positions on varied terrain.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency systems are functioning properly.
• Verify load documentation for accuracy and compliance with legal weight limits.
• Secure loads and equipment according to safety standards.
• Promptly report vehicle issues, accidents, or traffic violations.
• Maintain accurate driving logs and documentation in accordance with DOT and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Follow verbal or written instructions to complete assignments.
• Demonstrate a responsible, safety-first mindset at all times.
• All additional responsibilities as required by the role.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma, or equivalent, is preferred
• Valid and Insurable CDL, Class A is preferred
• Valid DOT Medical Card
• 2 Years of work experience operating 6-axle dump truck
• Ability to occasionally self-load/assist with loading/unloading equipment
• Understanding of DOT regulations
• OSHA Trenching and Excavating Certificate (can be obtained once hired)
• OSHA 10-Hour Certificate (can be obtained once hired)
