About the Role:

As an intern, you will be integrated into a professional Agile environment where you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality software applications. Depending on project placement, you will gain exposure to diverse technology stacks, including Java/J2EE and Microsoft .NET ecosystems, along with modern integration platforms like MuleSoft. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals interested in full-stack development, secure coding, and large-scale data integration within the federal sector.

Hourly rate: $22.00

What You'll Do:

As an intern, you will:

As an intern, you will work under the guidance of senior developers to support federal IT delivery. Depending on your project assignment, you may gain experience in:

  • Backend Development: Assisting in coding and debugging services using Java (Spring, Hibernate, Struts) or .NET (C#, ASP.NET, MVC) frameworks.
  • System Integration: Supporting the interoperability of complex enterprise systems using the MuleSoft platform and RESTful API design principles.
  • Data Management: Working within relational databases like SQL Server or Oracle to write queries and manage data integrity.
  • Frontend Engineering: Developing and maintaining user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and UI libraries such as PrimeFaces.
  • DevSecOps & Tooling: Utilizing Git for version control and navigating both Windows and Linux/UNIX environments to support deployment pipelines.
  • Agile Collaboration: Participating in daily stand-ups, code reviews, and requirements gathering within a cross-functional Agile team.

Internship Learning Objectives:

  • Enterprise Java development (modern and legacy frameworks)

  • Version control and collaboration with Git

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
    • Computer Science
    • Software Engineering
    • Information Technology
  • Foundational Coding: Basic programming experience in Java OR C#/.NET.
  • Database Literacy: Familiarity with SQL or relational database concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Git for version control
  • Interest in federal IT systems, enterprise environments, or compliance standards
