Job Description

Norfolk Collegiate School seeks a dedicated, collaborative, and student-centered Third Grade Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. This position is responsible for teaching core elementary subjects while fostering a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that supports students' academic and social-emotional growth.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching at the elementary level, demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills, and be committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in core subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies
  • Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and independence
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and families
  • Foster a positive classroom community that supports social-emotional development
  • Collaborate with grade-level team members and specialists to support student learning
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Teacher licensure preferred
  • Teaching experience at the elementary level, preferably in a third-grade classroom
  • Strong understanding of elementary literacy and mathematics instruction
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Enthusiasm for working with young learners and contributing to the school community
