Sr. Product Engineer - Fluid Power & Pressure Control Systems

Pneumatic and Hydraulic Company | Katy, Texas

Pneumatic and Hydraulic Company is seeking an experienced Sr. Product Engineer to take technical ownership of engineered fluid power and pressure control product lines. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting hydraulic, pneumatic, and high-pressure systems used in industrial applications.

The ideal candidate applies strong engineering judgment to translate customer requirements into manufacturable, compliant, and reliable system designs while supporting production, testing, and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical owner for assigned fluid power and pressure control systems

  • Design and develop hydraulic, pneumatic, and pressure-based systems including component selection, sizing, and integration

  • Create and review engineering drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and BOMs

  • Perform system calculations (pressure, flow, force, thermal, safety factors)

  • Support pressure testing system design, control strategies, and safety compliance

  • Lead troubleshooting, validation testing, and root cause analysis

  • Partner with manufacturing to resolve technical issues and improve production efficiency

  • Support compliance with applicable pressure and fluid power standards

  • Mentor junior engineers and assist in customer technical discussions

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in fluid power, hydraulics, pneumatics, pressure control, or engineered industrial equipment

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuit design

  • Experience with pressure vessels or high-pressure systems preferred

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software

  • Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and P&IDs

  • Familiarity with ASME, API, NFPA, or related standards is a plus

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Compensation & Schedule

  • $115,000 - $145,000 annually

  • Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (OT as needed)

  • Minimal to moderate travel
