Job Description

Location: Primarily remote/virtual with limited travel

Position Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $118,000 – $148,000 annually

Position Summary We are seeking a Senior BI Developer / Consultant to design, develop, and implement custom business intelligence dashboards that deliver real-time, actionable insights for leadership. This role will focus on platform design and implementation while ensuring seamless integration with the newly established common data framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop an initial set of custom Power BI dashboards, including site-level and functional views with drill-down capabilities and role-based access.
  • Build intuitive, user-customizable interfaces suitable for users with moderate Microsoft 365 proficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Data Architect to integrate data from the common framework into cohesive, visual formats.
  • Support user acceptance testing, iterative refinement based on feedback, and integration with existing enterprise systems.
  • Recommend and apply best practices for dashboard performance, maintainability, and security within the client's IT environment.
  • Assist with development of training materials and knowledge transfer related to dashboard usage and customization.
  • Contribute to overall project deliverables and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of hands-on experience in business intelligence development, with deep expertise in Power BI (or equivalent Microsoft BI tools).
  • Proven track record designing and building enterprise dashboards that aggregate complex, multi-source data for executive decision support.
  • Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query, data modeling, visualization best practices, and role-based security.
  • Strong experience working in Microsoft-centric environments (Azure, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills in consulting or government project settings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing BI solutions for federal agencies or organizations with geographically dispersed operations.
  • Background in operational data domains such as facilities, personnel, security, or asset management.
  • Prior use of Microsoft Copilot or similar AI tools to accelerate development.
