Position Summary

Oversee the processing of residential mortgage loans, including new construction and portfolio loans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely closings. Acting as a liaison between borrowers, loan officers, and underwriters while supporting process improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and process mortgage loan files from application through closing, including new construction and portfolio loan transactions.
  • Perform welcome calls with borrowers within department timeframes.
  • Verify borrower documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Meet daily performance metrics as defined by management.
  • Ensure all loans meet regulatory, investor, portfolio and company requirements.
  • Work directly with borrowers, mortgage loan originators, builders, underwriting and vendors to satisfy outstanding loan conditions.
  • Identify and address potential red flags within loan files, including construction specific risk and non-traditional documentation for portfolio loans.
  • Deliver clean, complete and accurate files to both Underwriting and Closing Departments.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of loan products, regulatory changes, construction lending practices, and investor/portfolio guidelines.
  • Attend and complete regulatory and compliance training, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years' previous loan processing experience with strong understanding of conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA, construction and portfolio loan guidelines.
  • Demonstrate experience processing new construction loans.
  • Experience working with portfolio/non-QM loan products and flexible underwriting guidelines.
  • Proven track record of managing a high-volume loan pipeline with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of underwriting terminology.
  • Maintain current knowledge of lending guidelines, investor programs, construction lending requirements, and industry changes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet and electronic mail software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with builders, borrowers, and cross functional teams.
  • High level of professional integrity and customer service skills.
  • Maintains a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and work relationship with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a dynamic, constantly changing environment.
  • High attention to detail with strong focus on quality and compliance.
  • Encompass experience preferred.
