The Front of the House Manager is responsible for all event staff, including hiring, training, and development functions, to ensure superior service experiences at catering events.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Perform hiring and onboarding functions for all front of the house event staff including Captains, Co-Captains, Bartenders, and Servers
- Run Captain and Event Staff meetings
- Prepare training documents and oversee event staff training program
- Manage uniform policy for company; create and coordinate grooming kits for staff/events
- Coordinate with sales team to effectively staff events, utilizing TPP and Nowsta; review work schedules for the event team
- Review event details with Event Captain before the event
- Check time sheets for staff hours
- Review captain packets following events
- Follow up with sales and venues on any event specific issues
- Document event issues for upcoming training opportunities
- Ensure we are in compliance with ABC regulations
- Bartenders and serving staff are of legal age to serve
- Bartenders are trained on expectations to ID underage persons
- Manage returns of unused alcohol
- Create and maintain venue booklet
- Rules and expectations for each venue
- Include copy of venue expectations in captain packets
- Follow up and meet with venues to see how our staff is meeting expectations
- Hold performance reviews on a quarterly basis with direct reports
What You Bring to the Table:
- 3+ years of catering or event planning/scheduling experience
- Computer proficient, including proficiency in Office 365
- Experience using Nowsta Staffing Program a plus
