Job Description

Are you looking for a productive way to spend your summer, earn some money, and give back to your school community? Vanguard Classical School is seeking energetic, reliable, and hardworking student workers to join our facilities team this summer.

Under the direct supervision of our Building Manager, you will play a vital role in refreshing our campus and ensuring our classrooms and facilities are clean, safe, and ready to welcome students and teachers back in the fall.

As a Summer Student Worker, you will assist with a variety of hands-on, active projects around the school building, including:

  • Classroom Preparation: Moving, lifting, and arranging desks, chairs, and tables according to teacher floor plans.

  • Painting & Detailing: Assisting with minor painting projects, touching up walls, and prepping surfaces (taping, sanding).

  • Deep Cleaning: Washing whiteboards, clearing out storage areas, cleaning windows, and assisting with general tidying of common areas.

  • Organization: Helping inventory school supplies, organizing storage closets, and distributing delivered materials to classrooms.

  • General Maintenance Support: Assisting the Building Manager with other simple, low-risk facility projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be a current high school student (minimum age 15).

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from the Building Manager.

  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to work as part of a team.

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds comfortably throughout the shift.

  • Reliable transportation to and from the school campus.
