If you are looking for a great place to work, we are hiring Production Associates which can be in one of our following areas: Production Line (Chorizo or Ready to Eat), Tamale Line, Prep Cooks, Machine Operators, and Document Techs.
The Role
Nuevo Garcia Foods is a growing food manufacturing company seeking reliable and motivated Production Line Associates. In this role, you will work with hot and cold food products, raw materials, and finished goods across various stages of production. Responsibilities include food preparation, cooking, assembling, weighing, packaging, and safely operating basic machinery.
You'll play a key role in maintaining production efficiency while meeting company quality standards and following all Health & Safety and Food Safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow daily production line assignments as directed by supervisors or leads
- Assist with food preparation and cooking tasks, including following recipes
- Ensure production goals are met on time and meet quality standards
- Accurately document production data, perform basic calculations, and update digital systems
- Package, seal, label, and palletize finished products
- Inspect products, containers, and packaging for quality and compliance
- Maintain food safety standards, including proper storage and sanitation practices
- Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and maintain required HACCP logs
- Operate machinery safely and report any mechanical or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Participate in safety training and team meetings
- Crosstrain, rotate positions, and assist in training new team members
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and noisy environments while wearing protective gear
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform movements such as bending, reaching, lifting, and kneeling
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 70 lbs occasionally)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to read, follow instructions, and perform basic math calculations
- Comfortable working around moving machinery
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and varied schedules as needed
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred (or relevant work experience)
- Basic math skills, including measurements and conversions
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
