As a Part-time Float Support Specialist/ Community Engagement Specialist, you will provide consistent, person-centered support that helps individuals with developmental disabilities build skills, confidence, and community connection. This role exists to ensure program coverage across adult day rooms while strengthening participation in meaningful local activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Floating between adult day program rooms to support daily programming and participant engagement
- Assisting with life skills development and activities of daily living
- Supporting community involvement by coordinating participation and leveraging local resources
- Building and maintaining relationships with community partners aligned to individual interests
Required qualifications/skills:
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED (proof required)
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License for 2+ years with 4 points or less
- Direct support professional experience, preferred

When community participation is planned, you’ll assist with preparation, safe transportation, and respectful interaction at local sites. You’ll monitor preferences and comfort levels throughout the shift, document key observations, and close out by communicating updates so the next staff member can provide seamless support.
