Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach

Field hockey isn't just a sport; it's a laboratory for competition, discipline, and character. At Moravian Academy, we're looking for a coach who leads with both strategy and conviction.

You are a coach who brings tactical excellence and personal drive to the field every day. You understand that building a winning program means more than designing the right plays, it means creating a culture where student-athletes learn to compete with intensity and grow with purpose.

As Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach, you'll direct all aspects of the program for grades 7–12, including practice planning, game preparation, scouting, athlete evaluation, off-season development, and equipment management. You'll supervise and mentor assistant coaches, collaborate with the Director of Athletics, and serve as Moravian Academy's representative to the Colonial League, the PIAA, and our broader community. This is a seasonal position beginning immediately through the conclusion of the fall athletic season.

What You Bring

• Associate's degree from an accredited institution; bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum four years of coaching experience in field hockey at the college, high school, or club level
• Deep knowledge of field hockey strategy, rules, and best practices in athlete development
• Knowledge of Colonial League and PIAA rules governing interscholastic athletics
• Demonstrated success in player development and competitive team-building
• Strong organizational skills: scheduling, equipment, statistics, and program logistics
• Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, administration, and media
• Previous experience in an independent school or college-preparatory program preferred
