POSITION SUMMARY

The Billing and Accounts Payable Analyst is a fast paced, detail-oriented position that supports the accounting functions of billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable. This role requires a strong understanding of revenue and expense cycles and the ability to independently identify, investigate, and resolve billing and payment issues. The ideal candidate will exercise sound judgment, support evolving operational processes, and contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of financial workflows.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Create and issue customer invoices, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational requirements.
  • Review and process accounts payable invoices, resolving discrepancies with internal teams and vendors.
  • Investigate and resolve billing and payment discrepancies, determining appropriate corrective actions.
  • Process credit memos and billing adjustments in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor outstanding payments and respond to inquiries, determining appropriate follow-up or escalation.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and identify data inconsistencies requiring resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Support new operational initiatives by helping define and implement billing and payment workflows.
  • Identify and contribute to improvements in billing and accounts payable processes.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based tools and reporting to support analysis and decision-making.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Associates degree in accounting or related field.
  • Prior accounts payable and billing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as Microsoft Business Central.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication, research, and customer service skills.
