Family Services Manager

Full Time | Days | 8am - 5pm

Pay: $25.25 - $28.54/hr

Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Family Services Manager for CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence in Columbus, Ohio. LSS CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence has been the sole resource for victims seeking shelter in Franklin County for more than four decades, providing a Temporary Emergency Shelter, 24-Hour Crisis Hotline, DV Counseling, Legal Advocacy, Peer Support Groups and more.

What will I do as a Family Services Manager with Lutheran Social Services?

• Provide a safe, supportive, structured environment for parents and children in crisis situations
• Model and teach positive forms of nurturance, fun, discipline and anger management to both parents and children
• Supervise Child Care Specialists and Youth Advocate including scheduling, training and ongoing supervision
• Coordinate recreation, art and play activities for all youth
• Develop and implement family activities such as birthday's, holiday celebrations, weekend activities and other important family functions
• Provide short term family counseling and linkages to ongoing services
• Facilitate a safe and supportive trauma group for children and teens
• Provides thorough documentation on all client related data
• Maintain cleanliness of childcare areas of shelter
• Educates victims regarding safety planning
• Engage with Volunteer Manager and volunteer groups working with children
• Continually seek and update resources for children and families

Requirements for a Family Services Manager with Lutheran Social Services:

• Master's degree in Social Work, related field or equivalent experience preferred
• At least two years of experience working with children and families
• Individual and family therapy, crisis intervention and experience in providing direct services in some segment of the human services field needed
• Knowledge of early education and child development
