What is a Sleep/Awake Aide?
Imagine earning extra income while you sleep. The Overnight Sleep/Awake Aide role offers a unique opportunity to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and Autism during nighttime hours. This position is ideal for those seeking overnight work with periods of rest, while remaining responsible for responding to individuals' needs as they arise.
As a Sleep/Awake Aide, you will be expected to sleep during designated hours but also wake periodically throughout the night, when needed, to respond to individuals' requests, provide support, and assist them in returning to bed. In addition, you must remain available for emergencies and provide essential care and supervision in a safe, supportive residential community home. Your presence helps ensure safety, reassurance, and continuity of care throughout the night-offering peace of mind to the individuals served and their teams.
Relaxed Shift Environment: Sleep Aides can read, relax, or sleep for most of the shift. They wake periodically throughout the night, when needed, to respond to individuals' needs.
