Deputy Sheriff for Sheriff's Office

HSD or GED; more than 2 years of experience in law enforcement preferred. Currently POST certified as a Peace Officer in the State of Georgia. Possession of or ability to readily obtain GCIC/NCIC certification. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, enforcement of State Law and local ordinances; patrols the county to deter and detect criminal activities; writes traffic tickets; directs traffic; assists at accident scenes. Delivers subpoenas and other civil papers to defendants. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service as directed.

The starting salary is $24.70 per hour, plus generous benefits including a five-year vesting schedule for retirement.
